Excellent for Both the Novice and Pro Photographer!

I bought my camera a week before my trip to Guilin and took a one day bootcamp course in DSLR and one additional class on flash photography in the US prior to going on my one day trip with Andy. With only 2 days of DSLR experience, I wasn’t sure if I was ready for this trip. I was very pleasantly surprised. I had a great time even with very limited photography experience. Andy gave me some basic photo lessons as we hiked up mountains, rafted down a river, visited a farmhouse. It is like getting a private lesson from a professional photographer who is super nice. He shoots with National Geographic photographers, has won photography competitions, and been featured in The Guardian, so if you are a pro photographer I think you’d be very pleased as well. I don’t know anyone else in Guilin who will climb at 4:30 am in the morning with you in order for you to wait for sunrise over the karst landscapes or stay with you until dusk because you want to take photos of the cormorant fishermen. I think it would be near impossible to shoot all day with Andy and not take some high quality photos that you would be proud to hang on your wall or keep in your portfolio. Enjoy!
