Initial Payments
NON-REFUNDABLE
Your initial payment holds your guiding slot with our small niche team.
The initial payment towards your trip reserves a guides time, or your place on a group tour, affecting a place or guide availability for others. Therefore, it is not a retainer or deposit. By paying the initial payment you confirm that you fully understand this is a non-refundable initial payment to hold your guiding dates or a place on a tour with Gatsby Travel or one of our local brands in each destination, such as Guilin Photography Tour and others.
The initial payment locks and confirms your dates. We make all the bookings.
Your final balance invoice is sent to you on avereage 60 days prior to your trip.
Your balance payment is due 45 days prior to your trip start date.
You confirm you understand and agree that Gatsby Travel's team will not book or advertise one of their guides availability at that time once you have paid this initial payment. In the case of group tours, they will reduce the number of available places, and so reducing the potential for other clients to join the trip or book a guide.
If you, the client, cancels the trip or fails to attend on the arranged Trip Date, for any reason, this initial payment will not be returned to you.
If you cancel, Gatsby Travel shall suffer losses that are difficult to ascertain.
As such, you agree that, in the event of cancelation by yourself, you agree this initial payment shall be forfeited by yourself and paid to Gatsby Travel as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
You, the client, and Gatsby Travel agree that such amount is reasonable and fair to hold a place on a trip.
