What Hotels in Yangon Are Like
- Majority of 4-star and up are foreign invested and operated, offering decent services and locations easy to get around. Better value than others.
- Local brands are more budget-friendly, 3-star and guesthouses, but devoid of styles and rooms are pretty small, doesn’t hurt for short stay.
- Prices fluctuate dramatically over the seasons, 2-month ahead booking is advised.
- Areas around the Sule Pagoda and Shwedagon Pagoda are better than others. Chinatown is vibrant and interesting but not so great for quiet nights.
